A fireworks celebration, hosted by AAP – Food Samaritans (AAP), will help the Palm Springs nonprofit raise funds to provide “nutritional support to improve the quality of the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses” and who are low-income.

On July 4, a spectacular Independence Day Celebration and fundraiser will take place at the historic O’Donnell House, also known as “Eye of the Desert” (or Ojo Del Desierto). While enjoying the mountainside setting of the house, whose terrace seems to float above the desert floor, attendees will partake in a delicious barbeque catered by Willie Rhine and his team from EIGHT4NINE. Tickets include an open bar, barbeque, entertainment, and valet parking, and must be purchased in advance.

“This is our ninth year offering this unique and fun-filled way to observe our nation’s birthday,” said Mark Anton, CEO and Executive Director of AAP – Food Samaritans in a prepared release. “Once again, we are extremely grateful for the generosity of Dr. Tracy Conrad and Dr. Paul Marut for allowing us to hold this fundraiser and fireworks viewing party from this amazing location.”

Date: July 4; time: 7:30 p.m. (City of Palm Springs’ firewworks display starting at 9:15 p.m.); location: O’ Donnell House, Palm Springs, California; tickets: $150.
