DAA & Arts Thread Announce “Young Creatives Against AIDS” Contest
Designers against AIDS (DAA) and Arts Thread have announced a contest for young creatives around the globe to produce a 2-D artwork series for DAA’s social media channels. The work should reflect the nature of DAA’s work in HIV prevention, HIV testing, treatment when needed, LGBTQ/Human Rights issues, fighting stigma, anti-bullying and related subjects. Says Ninette Murk: “The main task for the students is to find how DAA 2.0 and safe sex awareness can be relevant for the younger generations.”
The contest seeks entries from fashion, visual communication, art, design, journalism, and may include a written story, a piece of journalism, an essay, a photo series, slogans to combine with images for social media (static and gifs), art direction for a campaign idea (posters, interactive games), a video, a documentary, design or visual ideas for a t-shirt and sweatshirt collection. Works submitted will be shown and enjoyed worldwide (even if you don’t win a prize). The goal is to make young people think and act smart when it comes to making important decisions about their sex life.
The deadline for entering the contest is January 6, 2020. There is no entry fee. Winners will be announced before the end of January 2010. The first prize winner will receive a 500-Euro gift certificate to DAA’s charity online fashion store; two runners-up will receive a 100-Euro gift card. First Prize and Runners-up will become ambassadors for DAA and featured with a Q&A on ARTSTHREAD and DAA social media and will be invited to be part of future online workshops for DAA.
Designers against AIDS (DAA) was founded in 2004 with the aim to inform young people via social media about HIV/AIDS, explain how they can prevent themselves and others from getting infected and the importance of knowing their HIV status.
